Culture As A Dare

'Culture as a Dare’ is a participatory musical adventure into the unknown, fantastical and wild. Self-funded, autonomous and driven to provide an alternative to the mainstream. A kindred collective of souls looking to present portals to new places and sounds.

We have been putting on regular events in Southend-on-Sea since 2008, attempting to bring cohesion to the' marginal aspects of the local music scene. Following in the fine tradition of labels such as Flying Nun, Postcard, Constellation and K, the record label is a logical extension of our activities, releasing records by bands we love.

Anyone can be a part of it: come to a show, bake cakes, make new friends and be inspired to try something new. Don’t just be a voyeur, be a voyager; become involved, create and support.
